Le
Giang originally comes from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and has moved to the UK since 2021 for her undergraduate. Giang holds a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology from the University of Nottingham (2019-2023). As a part of the partnership programme with the International University – Vietnam National University, she spent the first 2 years of her degree in Vietnam (2019-2021). Giang has been studying plant root development and the interactions between plants and microbiome. In her final year of undergraduate, she studied the changes in plant architecture caused by plant-associated fungi. At the same time, she was also working as a library ambassador at the university libraries.
Giang joined the Castrillo lab in October 2023, as a PhD Student under the BBSRC DTP CASE Programme. Her project focuses on the characterization of root-sealing regulatory mechanisms in plants colonized by microbes. As a part of the CASE programme, Giang is partnered with Syngenta.
