Sourav Sen

Sourav is from India. India is famous for its diverse culture, festivals, and food. He obtained his PhD (2024) in the Chemical Biology unit at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, India. He completed his M.Sc. in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India. He is deeply passionate about interdisciplinary research that bridges chemistry and biology to address fundamental questions in science.

During his PhD, he studied two distinct bio-inspired materials, i.e., cellulose and peptide, each meticulously tailored to address the evolving needs of energy and healthcare domains. Initially, he developed a green technology-based energy application involving biomass-derived cellulose-based thermal insulators. He further exploited another bioinspired material, i.e., peptides, in developing biomolecular scaffolds by exclusively adapting a minimalistic approach to mimic the bioactivity of the natural design.

In 2025, he joined as a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Biosciences, University of Nottingham. Currently, he is studying self-assembled living materials for reproducing plant organ characteristics.
